Although everyone knew that Olivia was a smart girl, her inability to use correct grammar and spelling caused her great embarrassment. In fact, her teacher had discussed holding her back another year in school because of her problems. Upon testing, it was learned that Olivia has dyslexia, a common condition that makes language writing and spelling very difficult. Olivia would spend hours studying, only to miss many answers on her test, due to her Dyslexia spelling problem. Her teacher suggested that Olivia’s mom buy her a spell-checker, and although her mom was hesitant, she decided to give it a try. Much to everyone’s surprise, Olivia began to use correct grammar and spelling. Her grades improved, along with her self-confidence, because she began using a grammar and spelling checker.
